Meet the Author
Storytime
20-30 minutes (grades K-5)
Zoom or in-person
The author will introduce students to inventor Ernő Rubik and the puzzles he played with as a child, read Ernő Rubik and His Magic Cube in its entirety, and answer questions. In-person visits can be lengthened (to 40-60 minutes) for grades K-2 to include an optional art activity and/or puzzle play.

Workshop
40-60 minutes (grades 3-5)
In-person only
In this workshop, the author will engage students in a discussion about problem-solving and read excerpts from Ernő Rubik and His Magic Cube. Depending on educator preferences, students will then 1) write about a challenge they faced and overcame or 2) collaborate in small groups on a STEAM building challenge, followed by reflection on productive struggle.
Pieces of a Picture Book
Presentation
40-60 minutes (grades K-5)
Zoom or in-person
Students will hear how the author decided to write Ernő Rubik and His Magic Cube, learn cool Rubik's Cube facts, and see how selected pieces of a picture book "puzzle" fit together to create a whole book. This interactive presentation is appropriate for classrooms or auditoriums.
